Local design studio Daniel Joseph Chenin designs the new Fort 137 building that is located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The studio places a sprawling stone residence that surrounds a fort-inspired rotunda that was originally built in the 1850s. The home rests on a rock outcrop and overlooks the Red Rock Canyon.
The design team notes that "Upon entering the rotunda, the sound of running water from the lower level’s stone fountain transitions mindsets from the arid desert heat to one of a cooling desert mirage, and a winding staircase provides access to a rooftop lounge outfitted with a firepit and expansive desert views." It celebrates old fort structures from the early days of Las Vegas and the home has five bedrooms that overlook the surrounding landscape.
