The Forever Phone Case is a Smartphone Case Designed to Be Repaired

— December 17, 2025 — Tech
The Forever Phone Case is produced by Brighton-based design studio gomi using recycled low-density polyethylene waste plastic. Source material includes plastic bags, pallet wrap, and flexible packaging that is typically excluded from household recycling systems. The plastic is shredded, melted, and compression molded by hand, resulting in a solid form with a distinct marbled appearance. Each unit is made in small batches, and no two cases share the same surface pattern due to the manual process.

The case is designed to be repaired indefinitely, with the studio offering free lifetime fixes for damage. Owners can also send back an existing case to be remade and resized to fit a new phone model rather than replacing it. Production takes place locally in gomi’s workshop, and the current range supports selected iPhone models with optional compatibility for magnetic charging accessories.
