Forest Bar + Kitchen is the latest restaurant to open in the East London borough of Walthamstow and features a distinct focus on natural wines. Run by Jana Postulkova and her husband Ali, the quaint space features a tiny bar and a single communal dining table. The kitchen is run by the young Parisian-trained chef Nico Salzano. The menu at Forest Bar + Kitchen changes weekly and takes influence from the natural wine bars in Paris. The wine list contains only natural, organic and biodynamic intervention products from small producers.
Forest Bar + Kitchen is part of a growing movement of wine bars that champion natural wines and seasonal sharing plates. The location also speaks to a new wave of restaurants that are shying away from central London, due to rising rent prices and less acceptance of experimental concepts.
