There are specific banana containers made of plastic that you can buy to safely transport a single banana, but this foldable packaging concept by designer Giovanni Capeletti takes a more sustainable approach.
The cardboard package can be folded completely flat and makes use of cuts, folds and creases to securely hold a single banana in place. The stem and butt end of the banana stick out from the cardboard form, but this just makes removal that much easier. Once a banana has been eaten, this design seems like a much better alternative to carrying around a plastic container, since it can be flat-packed and tucked away into a bag for another time, or simply recycled when it's no longer needed anymore.
