A cruise ship is essentially a floating hotel but this futuristic concept by Remi Studio is better than a hotel and boat combined. ‘The Arc Hotel’ serves as a seaside accommodator that floats away when the water level rises. It is aptly designed after a sea shell but of course, it’s enclosed and completely waterproof.
The structure is perfect for times of natural disaster. Though it is not intended to self-navigate through the water, it can safely drift or be towed by other boats. It can also accommodate weighted impact in order to withstand earthquakes and hurricanes.
Many of beachside hotels have been destroyed by natural disasters in the past; if this hotel concept was a reality, they could have survived.
