Hermeus Uses Quarterhorse to Launch Ramjet-X

Hermeus is developing reusable high-Mach testing infrastructure that could make extreme-speed flight experiments more accessible and repeatable. Its expendable Ramjet-X vehicle will launch from the reusable Quarterhorse aircraft, which carries it to the speed and altitude required for ramjet operation before returning for future missions. This approach eliminates the need for a large expendable booster for every experiment. Ramjet-X can also carry sensors, communications systems, autonomous technologies, materials, propulsion components and other experimental payloads through sustained high-Mach environments.

The platform creates the foundation for Hermeus' Flight Test as a Service model, allowing customers to conduct high-speed experiments without developing dedicated vehicles and test programs. By lowering infrastructure requirements and making testing more repeatable, Hermeus could serve aerospace, defense and technology organizations developing high-speed systems. The model also creates a recurring service opportunity alongside the company's own hypersonic aircraft development programs.
