Wine-Flavored Gin Spirits

Four Pillars' Bloody Shiraz Gin is Made with Yarra Valley Shiraz Grapes

Australian distiller Four Pillars released a uniquely flavored gin spirit that's made with a combination of its Rare Dry Gin and Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes from local vineyards. According to Four Pillars, Bloody Shiraz Gin is "comparable to traditional sloe gin but with a few notable Aussie differences." The product boasts an ABV of 37.8% and is unfiltered and unfined, which only adds interest to the flavor profile of the finished spirit.

Some of the key notes of the gin spirit are juniper, white pepper, dark berries and spices. As well as having a well-balanced taste that's sweet with tannins at the finish that likens it to red wine, the unconventional gin spirit boasts a distinctly deep color to match.
