Polar's Wearable Fitness Watch is Dedicated to Tracking Heart Rates

Polar is set to release a fitness watch that is built around heart rate monitoring technologies. Although there has been a recent rise in optical heart rate (OHR) devices going on the market and Polar's new product will be sure to set itself apart.

Previously, Polar was the innovator responsible for the heart rate monitors designed to be strapped to the chest, but it has since decided to diversify its products. Despite a seemingly late entrance in the OHR market, Polar believes it is only the beginning for the rise of this type of product.

Polar typically deals with high-end fitness devices, however, the unnamed new device will be affordable for casual runners and trackers. The company's well known commitment to accuracy may be contributing to the delay, as a release date has yet to be announced.
