Plastic-Free Tobacco Filters

Filtrona Unveils a New Plastic-Free "Roll-Your-Own" Filter

The tobacco industry is moving towards sustainable production methods by introducing new products that reduce or eliminate plastic usage. Filtrona is embodying this by releasing the new Rip-a-Tip filter, featuring a biodegradable composition that does not harm the environment upon disposal. The Rip-a-Tip stick comprises six individual filter tips, each measuring 14 mm long. The outer wrap of Rip-a-Tip is fully customizable, allowing companies to choose their preferred colors or prints to promote their offerings and align with brand guides.

“The launch of Rip-a-Tip supports our ESG goal to offer a complete portfolio of plastic-free products by 2050. It is a biodegradable RYO filter solution that meets growing consumer and regulatory demand for tobacco products grounded in sustainability,” said Filtrona CEO Robert Pye.
