Watercolored Wormlike Walkways

Wormy Tent Walkways by Family and PlayLab Use Space Cleverly

Family and PlayLab have been selected to design their colorful wormy tents as part of the StreetFest international competition. The mandate for the project was to reimagine temporary outdoor structures.

The wormlike paths designed by Family and PlayLab act not only as sheltered space but, more than that, they serve as a means for people to understand their city in a new and unique manner. The selection process for the competition underscored the social and educational possibilities of temporary outdoor structures.

The fascinating thing about The Worms installation by Family and PlayLab is that the tents can be adapted to an array of possible scenarios and circumstances. The project is simple from a technical perspective but is rich with the possibility for interaction and learning.
