The kebab, often referred to as one of the UK's best-loved foods, has been given an expensive makeover.
Created by Food Network chef Andy Bates, the most expensive kebab includes ingredients often reserved for the more gourmet dishes. At a cost of £750, the most expensive kebab is served on a silver tray by a private waiter and contains saffron-infused flatbread, champagne-infused mint and cucumber yoghurt, micro cress and lettuce salad, chilli sauce made from the world’s expensive chilli, milk-fed lamb from the Pyrenees, gold leaf garnish and ceour de Beouf tomatoes.
The most expensive kebab was created to mark the launch of a new program on the Food Network channel that celebrates the growing street food truck trend called The Great Food Truck Race.
