Timber Exhibition Pavilions

Invisible Studio Designs the Urban Room Which is Affordable and Useful

Invisible Studio envisioned an exhibition pavilion which will later be repurposed as an outdoor classroom.

The structure boasts a rectangular shape and a semi-transparent facade. At night time, when the pavilion is lit-up, the corrugated fiberglass gives off a nice glow. Dubbed 'Urban Room,' Invisible Studio's concept was built by students at the University of Reading, in collaboration with Xylotek Advanced Timber Structures, as well as engineering firm Corbett and Tasker.

The exhibition pavilion appears to be lightweight and its construction is rather affordable. The designers focused on creating a user-friendly structure that will allow some form of flexibility. Urban Room will serve as the place where the architecture school will host its end-of-year show and a series of artist residencies. Later, the exhibition pavilion will be transferred to a primary school to be utilized as an outdoor classroom.
