Amazon May Release a Wearable Device to Determine Your Emotions

According to Bloomberg, Amazon.com Inc. is creating an emotion-detecting wrist device that pairs with your mobile phone. The gadget will decipher tones in your voice, and based on the mood diagnostic, may be able to suggest more appropriate ways to interact with others. The tailored communication suggestions are a catalyzation approach that encourages personal development for consumers.

The emotion-detecting device will be marketed as a health and wellness product. The AI device is a collaboration with Lab126 who developed the hardware for Amazon's Fire phone and Echo smart speaker and the software team for Alexa's voice. We may expect a hybridization between our perceived emotional state and our product recommendations, according to Bloomberg. This could radically change how and what consumers are marketed to, however, the accuracy of the technology is still up for debate.
