Gibson Debuts the 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Edition Series 3

— December 11, 2025 — Art & Design
Gibson has introduced a new, extremely limited production run of its replica electric guitar pickups — designated the 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Edition Series 3 — with only one thousand sets to be manufactured globally. This product represents the company's ongoing effort to meticulously recreate the specific components and sound characteristics of its legendary 'Patent Applied For' pickups from the late 1950s.

The 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Edition Series 3 set incorporates several carefully selected materials intended to match the historical electric guitar pickups, including particular types of plastic for the bobbins, specific grades of magnet, and period-accurate metal covers. The physical components have undergone an artificial aging process by Gibson's in-house specialists to simulate the wear and patina of a vintage piece, and each set is individually numbered and presented in a premium case.
