Playful Language App Campaigns

Duolingo is Not Taking Any Excuses to Miss Learning Lessons

Duolingo has a strong social presence and its latest campaign does not fall short of that reputation. The team highlights Duo, the adorable and sassy owl character, and presents a 5-second commercial at the Superbowl where it spotlights the character's rear. This represents its 'no buts' as it is not accepting any excuses for missing the lessons on the language app.

With this, the brand is also presenting a line of merchandise including Butt Briefs, a Butt Pin, and more. Duolingo expresses “Our designers and studio artists have a deep love for their craft and our characters and focused on some nitty-gritty design details to get Duo’s butt ready for primetime. Animators pored over how to get the light, shine, and shading of Duo’s butt just right.”
