Dubai is Entering the eSports World with the Dubai X-Stadium

The Dubai X-Stadium has officially been announced and is set to be the first esports-dedicated venue in the Middle East. The stadium will come as a joint venture between Dubai Media Office and TECOM Group and is scheduled to "establish Dubai as a regional and global hub for hosting video game events." The development of the stadium will be handled by Dubai Media Office and TECOM Group and will be officially endorsed by Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

While details about the stadium, including location and opening date, have yet to be revealed, both companies are extremely hopeful that the Dubai X-Stadium will become a centerpiece for Dubai in its push towards esports. With more and more esports-focused stadia popping up around the world, the announcement of the Dubai X-Stadium should come as no surprise, as Dubai aims to draw in some of the $99.6 billion the industry currently draws in.
