Breast Health Monitors

Dotplot is a Handheld Device that Uses Sensing Technology to Monitor Health

Dotplot was designed by postgraduate students at the Royal College of Art. The device uses sensing technology to acquire information by detecting the physical property quantities and converting them into readable signals. Dotplot is geared towards women's health. It collects data to build a map of the user's chest and take readings of their breast tissue.

It identifies different areas around the breast to map the reading to a specific point. If any changes in tissue density are detected, the user is immediately notified. Over a period of several months, Dotplot can provide a month-by-month comparison of the breast tissue to flag abnormalities as soon as possible to avoid and early detect potential breast cancer diagnoses.
