Dot Objects Presents New Shelving Focused on Steel and Wood Components

— February 25, 2026 — Lifestyle
Dot Objects presents a new shelving collection focused on steel and wood components that combines minimal form with material integrity. The collection was developed by designer Wiktoria Markiewicz and produced with handcrafted wooden elements and welded steel components made locally in Poland. The steel series features a rigid grid shelving unit made from 2 mm steel, powder-coated for durability, with custom RAL colour options or stainless steel variants available to suit different interior applications. The steel unit is designed to support significant weight while maintaining clean lines and structural clarity.

The collection also includes an essential wall shelf crafted from 2 mm steel with precision-cut profiles and concealed hanging hooks. A pine grid shelf made from 18 mm polished pine multiplex plates is finished with hand-oiling and protective coatings, with over 60 colour options offered. A mirror shelf combines 2 mm steel and glass to introduce reflective surfaces within the shelving language. All pieces are made to order with emphasis on crafted production and customization.

Trend Themes
1. Modular Customization - Bespoke, made-to-order shelving systems that combine interchangeable steel and wood modules create marketplaces for configurable furnishings tailored to individual spatial and aesthetic needs.
2. Material Integrity Design - Aesthetic emphasis on exposed, structurally honest steel paired with finished timber opens room for product lines that foreground durability and visible engineering as design features.
3. Local Craftsmanship Revival - Production models that prioritize handcrafted wooden elements and locally welded steel components enable new local micro-manufacturing ecosystems centered on artisanal quality and short supply chains.
Industry Implications
1. Furniture Retail - Retail offerings that blend modularity and customization can reshape customer expectations toward configurable inventory and experiential in-store or online personalization.
2. Interior Architecture - Architects and interior designers referencing clean-lined, load-bearing steel grids and customizable finishes can redefine space planning with multifunctional, structural furniture systems.
3. Manufacturing and Supply Chain - Localized production using thin-gauge welded steel and handcrafted timber parts supports supply chain models focused on rapid custom orders, reduced lead times, and regionally sourced materials.
