Feeling a piggy bank grow heavier is very rewarding, but Dos Pavos by Mr. Simon, a design studio based in Valencia, Spain, now provides a visual aspect to such monetary savings. Although not shaped like a traditional piggy bank, which is not surprising since it is modelled after Spanish clay vessels known as hucha de barro, the porcelain cover rises as more coins are dropped within. As it rises, notches are revealed that give an estimate of how much money is inside.
Dos Pavos by Mr. Simon also boasts a chic and contemporary aesthetic that will complement just about any home. The base is made out of wood while the top is crafted out of white ceramic. It is designed to store two euros coins.
