On a recent episode, Chef Hiroyuki Terada transforms donuts from Dunkin' Donuts into the rolled rice dish by slicing, reshaping and altering the appearance of the fried pastry to look like sushi. The meal offers a sweet dessert that is served to look like the savory raw fish dish.
Terada begins to transform the donuts into sushi by slicing the pastries in half and flattening them to form a thin layer that is similar to a layer of rice. The donut dough becomes the outer shell of the sushi while other flavors are rolled inside along with sweet toppings such as custard or strawberry compote.
