Incentive programs are an essential way for employers to get the most out of their employees, and the Domino's Air-King watch is a tangible example of such an incentive. The luxury Rolex watch, which comes branded with Domino's red and blue logo, is awarded to Domino's franchisees who put together impressive sales records over time.
The idea of the Domino's Air-King watch came directly from the founder of the delivery pizzeria. In 1977, a local franchisee noticed the founder's own branded watch and asked what he could do to get it. Half-jokingly, the founder responded "Turn in a $20,000 sales week," and the franchisee proceeded to do so. Seeing the efficacy of such an incentive, Domino's has since upped the ante and offered Domino's Air-King Rolexes to any franchisee that can turn in $25,000 for four straight weeks.
