Domino’s 40th Anniversary is Honored with a Nostalgic Short Film & Capsule

— October 1, 2025 — Tech
Domino’s 40th anniversary is marked with a short film directed by Will Norman that reimagines the energy of 1985. The project fuses classic filmmaking with AI-driven techniques, using tools like MidJourney and Veo 3 to generate bespoke sequences alongside live-action shots. Styled in a 4:3 aspect ratio to resemble home movies, the film channels ‘80s video games, cult cinema, and retro fashion to frame the brand’s first UK store opening in Luton. Norman integrates Domino’s icons such as delivery cars, pizza boxes, and uniforms into surreal visuals that balance humor and style.

The anniversary capsule collection launches alongside the film, inspired by Domino’s original 1985 delivery uniforms. Reissued pieces include a bomber jacket, polo shirt, and cap, while new items feature a slogan t-shirt, socks, and a bumper sticker. Each design carries Domino’s red-and-blue palette and unapologetic retro styling, connecting today’s fans with the brand’s early history.

“Marking 40 years since we powered up our first oven in the UK, we wanted a drop that felt as bold as 1985,” says Melanie Howe, Domino’s Chief Nostalgia Officer. “Will truly captured the essence of the era, bringing our icons to life in a unique way. This project celebrates our heritage and shows that Domino’s is still delivering in style.”
