Repurposed Cot Projects

The DIY Crib Desk Turns One Piece of Children's Furniture into Another

The DIY Crib Desk is a fun craft project for parents who either have a lot of time on their hands or, more realistically, want to repurpose their old cot since they don't plan on having any more children. It essentially involves converting a crib with a removable drop side into a desk fit for growing and creative children.

Conceived by the mastermind parents behind the A Little Learning for Two blog, the DIY Crib Desk requires minimal materials. A mdf/particle board cut to mattress size was laid down on top of the mattress base to provide a sturdy tabletop after the drop side was removed. It was then coated with blackboard paint for a chalkboard surface. The remaining cot sides were then fitted with hooks for storage.
