To address research that has shown kids are using social media before their parents have explained how to use the platforms responsibly, Vodafone UK and Andersen Press teamed up with award-winning author Jeanne Willis and illustrator Tony Ross to create a co-branded edition of #Goldilocks that helps with digital parenting.
As 48% of children are exposed to social media before the age of seven, '#Goldilocks: A Hashtag Cautionary Tale' is branded as a "fairytale for the digital age" that puts a modern spin on a familiar story. In the book, Goldilocks is set on getting likes on social media but her pursuit turns into a valuable lesson on the consequences of her actions.
The social media storybook has been made available to download for free, alongside an activity sheet, both of which make great digital parenting resources to start conversations about staying safe and being kind online.
