Bluink Created a Digital Identity App for Residents of Ontario

Bluink launched its digital identity app, which is now available for Ontario users of Android and iOS devices. The digital identity app was created in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, which provided funding for the project. Bluink's app is named eID-Me and provides Ontario residents with the ability to store identification documents on their mobile phones. The app will also simplify the process for online verification and allow users to login without using a password.
Users can register for the app by scanning their passport, Driver's license or Photocard. Following that, the platform will provide them with an eID-Me identity.
Steve Borza, the Bluink CEO made a statement about the potential implications of the new app, "Once integrations are in place, eID-Me could prevent identity fraud in financial services, which became more likely due to millions of leaked social insurance numbers from data breaches last year.”
