The Apple Digital ID Can Be Used for Boarding Planes and More

The Apple Digital ID feature is being rolled out by the tech brand as solution for consumers that will help them to keep identification on hand at all times in a decidedly digital way. The new feature will provide consumers with passports with the ability to store the document in the Wallet app on their iPhone, which will be approved for use when traveling as a valid form of ID at TSA checkpoints in US airports. The ID will be visible on the persons iPhone and Apple Watch, if applicable, and will be a suitable form of ID at more than 250 US airports when traveling on a domestic flight with international travelers still requiring their physical passport.

The Apple Digital ID feature is slated to be expanded in the future beyond air travel with the brand hoping to expand into age verification for business purposes.
