Railway and transportation company Deutsche Bahn recently launched a VR-powered recruiting program that takes potential employees through realistic work simulators -- offering an array of on-the-job scenarios. This immersive recruitment program is not only an ideal way to handpick the most qualified hires but is also beneficial for effective training sessions.
Using 3D virtual reality videos, Deutsche Bahn lets new recruits experience a day in the life of a train drivers, electricians and other railway specialists. Each of the company's potential hires is fitted with a pair of VR googles that take them on a train ride or train repair session. An example of a realistic simulator includes a virtual inspection of the underside of a train.
No longer limited to entertainment and gaming, virtual reality is becoming a powerful training tool for both employers and educators.
