Those who own an Alexa-compatible device, such as the Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, now have the chance to experience the future of voice-activated interactive gaming with Destiny 2 and its accompanying Amazon Alexa Skill.

The Alexa Skill equips players with an artificially intelligent "Ghost" companion that can can be used to improve one's in-game experience. Using just their voice, players are able to command a Ghost to put on different pieces of equipment, provide recommendations or real-time progress updates. To kick off the launch of the skill, the game manufacturers have released a limited-edition speaker in the shape of a Ghost.

As well as being useful for streamlining a range of simple household tasks, voice assistants are helping to introduce new kinds of gaming experiences. Earlier this year, Netflix and Google teamed up for the Stranger Things Google Home Game and Amazon introduced Alexa-connected Echo Buttons that may be used to buzz in answers during group board games.
