Spanish visual artist Alicia Martin Lopez expresses a darker side of herself with these demon paintings. Though scary-looking, Alicia manages to make you almost feel sorry for them. Their body language makes them seem haggard and depressed.

Each demon has droopy and cavernous black eyes that make them look woeful. However, their sadness could be attributed to their confinement: two are physically confined to one another and some others are crouching in corners or laying on cell floors. Even those that are unbound and floating in midair or on water look like they are gazing at you with uncertainty.

The paintings seem to stand as a representation of our own internal demons. They are not as scary as we make them out to be -- once you face them, they are just sad uncertainties that need to be aided.
