João Teixeira designed the Delicato Tray for Oftwise as a circular valet tray cast from Jesmonite AC730, a water-based stone composite material. The tray incorporates asymmetrical ripple formations that separate larger objects including keys and glasses from smaller items such as rings and coins through varying channel widths across the surface. A recessed tealight holder is positioned at the center of the form, integrating candle placement directly into the storage layout.
The tray measures 24.5 by 24.5 centimeters with a height of 2.8 centimeters and includes a cork anti-slip base alongside a matte acrylic sealer. Oftwise stated that each piece is hand-cast, resulting in slight surface variations, air bubbles, and texture differences between units. The candle cavity measures 3.9 centimeters wide and 1.5 centimeters deep for standard tealights, while the Jesmonite construction provides fire resistance and impact durability at a total weight of approximately 2 kilograms.
