4iiii Innovations Upgrades the Battery of Its Product Range
The precision cycling technology company 4iiii Innovations Inc. has completed a full redesign of the battery enclosures across its entire line of power meters. Through this move, the company has transitioned from an external clip system to a seamless, fully integrated plastic design that complies with Reese's Law — the United States legislation enacted to protect young children from the dangers of ingesting button and coin cell batteries. The upgrade also meets Australia's battery safety standards and upcoming European Union requirements.
4iiii Innovations had already begun engineering child-safe enclosures when Australia implemented its strict battery safety standards in 2022. As such, when Reese’s Law was enacted in the United States, the company was able to act immediately with compliant battery clips before developing the more user-friendly integrated design that now appears on its PRECISION 3+ and PRECISION 3+ PRO power meters. All of these products have been third-party tested and certified through Intertek plc.
The redesign demonstrates that safety standards do not require compromising on aesthetics or performance, as the new enclosures are sleek and user-friendly.
