Fallen Animal Photography

This Dead Animal Photo Series is Somberly Beautiful

There is something utterly beautiful yet somberly sad about this dead animal photo series. Captured by Russian artist Maria Ionova-Gribina, the 'Natura Morta' series shows us resting animals surrounded by an explosion of vivid and bright flowers.

The poignant set of images takes on the idea of death and the loss of life in such a sweet and nurturing way by using vibrant and flamboyantly-colored flowers to set the lifeless corpses in. Considered fine art photography, the dead animal photo series is lush with life, which juxtaposes the fallen creatures.

“I found these dead animals during bicycle rides to the sea in the summer. I wanted to find a way to save them for world of art. They were so unprotected. One or two days more and they would be eaten by worms," says the photographer.
