Taking candid dancing portraits of hipsters letting loose and feeling the beat, photographer Alejandro Cartagena captures festival-goers at just the right euphoric moment in his photography series 'Bliss.'
Cartagena takes shots of people getting lost in the sounds of music at the NRMAL music festival in Monterrey, Mexico. Using hipster-looking volunteers to get lost in their own world -- and let the world around them just vanish into darkness -- the dancing portraits are like a blur of pure rhapsody surrounded by black.
The well-known Mexican photographer chose to focus on the notions and joys of being young and free-spirited. With thousands attending NRMAL, Cartagena had his pick of happy subjects to help him capture the look and physical feeling of bliss at just the right moment surrounded by pounding rhythm, lyrics and bass.
