Indoor cycling classes are nothing new to the fitness industry, but Cycle & Studio R in Shibuya, Tokyo is introducing VR workout classes to the Japanese market. Taking on an incredibly futuristic design, the studio embraces neon lighting and contrasting color design.
The R1 studio is the largest part of Cycle & Studio R in Shibuya and is where the fitness center operates its VR workout classes. To facilitate these VR classes, the studio features a massive screen and sound system enclosing riders in a 120-degree field of view. The second R2 studio adopts club-like sound and lighting and is primarily used for live group training with music.
While Cycle & Studio R offers a comprehensive environment for all styles of fitness, its main focus is on the VR program, dubbed THE TRIP. This 40-minute session takes patrons through a mesmerizing VR environment, designed to push cyclists in a fun and invigorating way.
