Vans titled the playlist, 'Off the Wall Wednesday,' and it will feature content derived from user listening history, as well as artists that have played at Vans events in the past. Van's custom playlist for Spotify will be updated with new content every Wednesday.
Partnering with a music streaming platform to create a brand playlist is a good way for Vans to reach its consumer base. Vans brands itself as a clothing and skateboard company, so a custom playlist will allow the company to interact with its customers in an authentic way. Due to the fact that Spotify is an immensely popular platform, it could allow Vans to widen its reach, as potential new customers interact with the playlist.
