Lauren Purnell turns her food into beautiful "illustrations" for her blog called 'Culinary Canvas.' She uses vibrantly colored foods and places them carefully and thoughtfully on white ceramic plates.
The different foods that Lauren uses range from fruits like melons and strawberries to greenery like parley and cabbage. Some of the imagery she has created includes a tea cup made from pieces of melon and papaya and a butterfly made predominantly from lettuce and cabbage.
The artist even creates her art in the likes each season or current events. For example, she recently made a Cinco de Mayo-inspired plate of food.
Lauren's mother must not have taught her not to play with her food, but we are thankful she didn't because her works are delightful, as well as delectable.
