Arla Foods is adding to its collection of cream cheese spreads with an all-new Skyr Cream Cheese Spread, which is made with Icelandic yogurt.
Over the past few years, skyr has emerged as an Icelandic cultured dairy product with the consistency of strained yogurt and a mild flavor. Technically, the product is classified as cheese, although it is widely seen as a high-protein, low-fat alternative to Greek yogurt.
Arla Foods' Skyr Cream Cheese Spread is made with a base of skyr, skimmed milk, buttermilk, cream, plus protein, salt and cheese culture. The new dairy product boasts an ingredient list that is free from added hormones, artificial flavors or preservatives, and it provides 45 calories and three grams of protein per serving.
