Cranberry Harvest Methods

Ocean Spray Spotlights its Canadian Farms

The cranberry harvest serves as a focal point for Ocean Spray as it celebrates the dedication and heritage of its Canadian farming partners. Among them, the Larocque Farm stands out as a cornerstone of the country’s cranberry industry—established in 1939 as Eastern Canada’s first family-run cranberry operation and joining the Ocean Spray cooperative in 1958. Now led by fourth-generation growers, the Larocque family continues to embody a legacy of stewardship, innovation, and community connection.

As part of Ocean Spray’s farmer-owned cooperative, which encompasses more than 100 farms nationwide, each grower contributes to a collective model grounded in shared prosperity and sustainability. Profits are reinvested directly into member farms and their local communities, reinforcing agricultural vitality and regional growth.

Through this cooperative spirit, Ocean Spray underscores the craftsmanship and enduring traditions that define Canada’s cranberry harvest and its role in supporting rural livelihoods.
