Homeowners are often unhappy with their alerting electronics for one reason or another; the Cozy Fire Detector was developed in response to this common dissatisfaction. LifeBox was hoping to manufacture an improved alarm system for the French market that people would feel comfortable installing on the ceilings of their houses.
Julien Bergignat reduced the case of the device down to a compact puck shape. This allows it to remain visually inconspicuous, so not to stick out amid one's lovely interior decoration. Proposing models in stark white and bright red, the designer also invites people to paint over the Cozy Fire Detector, should they decide to remodel their dwellings. This action would not compromise the functionality of the gadget, which conveniently requires an effortless bump with a broom to test its effectiveness.
