This carousel inspired cottage design redefines what vacation getaways look like. Designed by Dutch design studio Bureau Ira Koer, Merry-Go-Round is a four sided structure intended to provide an answer to 'a different typology for temporary occupation.'
Rather than making it look like a prison cell, the barred architecture gives the holiday home a playful feel. Breaking away from standard cottage design, the rooms are situated in order to make one big square in the middle and all rooms open to a single central hall that wraps around the entire house. This, too, gives the effect of a carousel as the temporary residents have to move in circles to get around. This is in addition to the floor length windows that offer the abode plenty of natural light.
