Los Angeles-based design studio Videre Licet creates a contemporary bench that is described as "conceptual glamour." The construction of the piece features welded bronze over wood and is partially upholstered with all-natural wool, latex foam, and cotton. The small portion of the modern furniture design that is not cushioned can be used as a side table. This creates a sense of functionality in the beautifully crafted silhouette.
The contemporary bench is dubbed 'Offset Cube' and it is the result of a collaboration between artist Daniele Albright and design curator Stefan Lawrence. The duo made and finished the furniture piece by hand. The elongated seat embodies the philosophy of Videre Licet which essentially aims to combine a " minimalist austerity with a luxurious sensibility." In this sense, the contemporary bench is both sculptural and functional.
