Yelp recently added contact-free delivery options to its platform in order to address COVID-19, and the new options were made possible through a partnership with Grubhub. The contact-free delivery options will be added to the Yelp apps for both Android and iOS devices.
Additionally, the platform is allocating $25 million to help smaller food establishments remain in business. The company released a statement indicated that it will look to provide, "support for independent local advertisers in other categories that are struggling to pay their bills during this difficult time." Yelp stated that the $25 million USD fund will be primarily used for advertising purposes to promote smaller restaurants.
Restaurants who use Yelp will also have the ability to customize a banner that can display their updated hours of operations.
