Based in Austin, Texas, the Conscious Capitalism Institute is more than just an organization; it's part of a "movement," if you will, that spreads a more benevolent way of doing business. The Institute provides a platform for high-powered individuals to connect and network along the same lines. They also hold an annual CEO Summit.
What exactly is "conscious capitalism?" Essentially, it's "a philosophy based on the belief that a more complex form of capitalism is emerging that holds the potential for enhancing corporate performance while simultaneously continuing to advance the quality of life for billions of people," according to the Conscious Capitalism Institute. "The Conscious Capitalism movement challenges business leaders to re-think why their organizations exist and to acknowledge their companies' roles in the interdependent global marketplace."
