Devin Troy and Case Studyo Created the 'Color of the Night' Lamp

Case Stuydo collaborated with artist Devin Troy on a politically driven piece for the home -- the 'Color of the Night' lamp. The lighting piece is designed to "explore race in America and address its pitfalls through intricate visual compositions and alternate narratives." The main design concept that lies behind the lamp is the play on the derogatory saying that refers to darker-toned skin blending into the night and that only their eyes can be seen. This dates back to the history of ghosts and race as the word "Spook" was a racial term used in the 40s.

The lamp shows a black ghost holding a candle -- it is constructed from glazed porcelain and it comes with a screen-printed box. The lamp is limited to only 100 pieces and each is accompanied by a special photo book.
