Coil + Drift moves up to Upstate New York, where it opens up a new studio located in the Catskill Mountains. The space is expansive and measures 3000 square feet just two hours north of the big city. There, the space features a showroom, an elevated production facility, and an office -- all of the brand's lighting fixtures are now also produced by their production team in-house.
The decision to move out to the Catskill Mountains was decided by founder and designer John Sorensen-Jolink as he wanted the team to be immersed in the landscape. The same landscape is a big inspiration behind many of the material-centric designs. He is also a former dancer an understands that many things in life are rooted in human connection and spacial awareness and wanted to be within the right environment.
