Created by Marlene of the On a Sweet Sugar Rush blog, this autumnal syrup was inspired by the popular Pumpkin Spice latte. However, since butternut tends to be naturally sweeter than pumpkin, this is a great way to cut down on sugary content, while still getting those satisfying fall flavors in a drink.
As far as the preparation goes, all of the ingredients can be heated in a pot and cooled before being transferred to a jar or glass for storage. The thick syrup keeps best for about a week and is a delightful way to amp up a plain cup of coffee in the morning.
