These Photographs Feature Clouds of Dust to Accentuate the Dancers Moves

Photographer Alexander Yakovlev captures the intense moments of professional dancers surrounded by clouds of dust. His most recent shoot uses kitchen flour to accentuate each movement of the dancers.

Each movement is made even more striking through the conjuring of dust-like flour in clouds surrounding the performers. The flour provides guidelines to how each move was executed so although the image shows a still dancer the idea of movement is very evident.

The photographs are shot in plain colors that coincide with the use plain flour. The images are primarily females dancers who are able to incorporate their hair into the movement of each image. There is also an image showing a pair of dancers who collaborate to create mass clouds of dust.
