Infusing the natural landscape to create artistic photography, the Clement Briend Cambodian Trees project is beautifully compelling.
Photographer Briend uses images of faces that he has found on several ethnic sculptures. He then projects these photos onto buildings and trees located in an urban setting. Briend manages to personify his surroundings; in the evening the trees are lit up and take on the appearance of these statuesque images. It actually appears as though the foliage was elaborately carved into shape and then painted.
The Clement Briend Cambodian Trees project is a beautiful blend of photography, sculpture and nature, demonstrating a creative and innovative way for the artist to interact with his natural and urban surroundings.
