Pittsburgh Undertakes Ford's City of Tomorrow Challenge

With technology progressing, perceptions expanding and new urban infrastructures arising, Ford launches a City of Tomorrow challenge that seeks to "explore new opportunities, solutions and experiments" that can allow the community to thrive.

Pittsburgh is the first city to take on the City of Tomorrow challenge and in this case-specific installment of the project, Ford and its partner will aim to explore the difficulties of transportation within the urban framework and troubleshoot possible solutions. The initative is dedicated to allowing the residents of Pittsburgh to feel empowered and engaged in their city.

The City of Tomorrow challenge takes to the street to ask people "what they need, the changed they want to see and the ideas they have." In addition, Ford and the City of Pittsburgh are offering an incentive of $100,000 to fund the piloting of the most pioneering ideas among the crowd-sourced content.
