This socially conscious citizen app encourages users to get out there and interact with their fellow community members. Based in France, the CityLity app works for your social network, but in real life. The Lyon-located startup hopes to increase unity and cohesion by bringing people together who use the same services in the area, but who don't necessarily know each other.
The proximity-based citizenship app incentivizes environmentally friendly behavior and enables users to help each other out and even alert authorities if they come across a public problem that needs fixing (for example, fire hydrant leaks). This approach not only strengthens physical communities as well as online ones, it also acts to increase real bonds between people when the world most needs it.
